Always get an estimate which is binding. Remember to sign the estimate along with your mover.

When you assign the contract to a moving company ask about the maximum time they will take to execute the move. Allow not more than 10% overrun of the binding time. Remember to get it written on the contract.

Sign the final receipt only after the final loading is done.
